The short version

Campaio and CampSuite are both modern, cloud-based booking systems aimed at small and mid-sized campsites. Both do the essentials well: a digital diary, online bookings, card payments, guest messages. The differences show up in focus and fit.

CampSuite is built specifically for the UK market, with direct alignment to the Caravan and Motorhome Club and Camping and Caravanning Club small-site schemes, a free-forever tier for CL and CS sites, and a mobile-first interface. Campaio has its own positioning and customer base worth comparing against your specific needs.

For UK CL, CS and small-to-medium touring sites, CampSuite's UK-specific focus and free tier are the clearest differentiators.

Who each one suits best

Choose CampSuite if

  • You run a UK CL, CS or small-to-medium touring park
  • You want free software for 5-pitch sites, with no trial end
  • You need direct Club-directory integration workflows
  • You want UK-specific tax, invoicing and VAT handling
  • You value mobile-first interface for on-site work

Choose Campaio if

  • It has a specific feature you need that CampSuite doesn't offer
  • You're already set up on Campaio and it's working well
  • You prefer its particular interface or workflow
  • You operate outside the UK and the local fit works better

Pricing

Pricing on both products changes. Always check current rates. As a guide:

The Express free-forever tier for CL and CS is the biggest structural difference. If you're a five-pitch site, CampSuite effectively costs nothing until you grow.

Feature comparison

Both tools cover similar ground in terms of day-to-day features:

The UK focus matters

If you run a UK site, lots of small things add up to a smoother experience on a UK-focused tool:

An international tool like Campaio may do most of this well too, but the UK focus is more incidental than central. That's a real distinction.

Setup and switching

Both tools are modern cloud products, so setup is fast on either. CampSuite specifically takes about 15 minutes end-to-end, using a wizard that assumes you know your pitches and prices but nothing else.

If you're currently on Campaio and thinking about moving, the low-risk approach is to run both in parallel for a fortnight. Enter new bookings on CampSuite as they come in, keep the old tool running for existing ones, and cut over once you trust the new system. There's no pressure to pick a day to switch.

Support

CampSuite support comes directly from Rob Heeley and the small team at WorkBee Limited, based in the UK. Campaio provides its own support via its published channels. Small-tool support often works in the customer's favour — the person replying to your email has almost certainly met a site like yours.

What you give up with each

With CampSuite, you give up: whatever specific workflow or integration you may already rely on in Campaio. If there isn't one, you give up nothing.

With Campaio, you give up: the UK-specific focus, the Club directory workflow alignment, the free CL and CS tier, and the tight mobile-first interface.

A practical way to decide

  1. Are you a UK CL or CS? Try CampSuite first. It's free and designed for exactly your situation.
  2. Do you already use Campaio and it's working? There's no compelling reason to switch.
  3. Are you comparing tools from scratch? Try CampSuite in 15 minutes. If it fits, you have your answer without a deeper evaluation.

A note on respect

Campaio is a legitimate modern tool serving its own customers well. This page exists because people compare options, and we'd rather be straight with you than pretend we're the only choice. If Campaio works for you, keep using it. If CampSuite fits better, welcome aboard.
