Hipcamp bookings, straight into your diary
CampSuite™ connects directly to Hipcamp. Your availability and rates go out, Hipcamp bookings come back in automatically, and the same pitch is never sold twice.
What the Hipcamp integration does
Hipcamp is where a lot of campers start looking: people searching for somewhere in the countryside to pitch a tent, park a van or book a glamping stay. A listing puts your site in front of guests who would never have found your website, which is exactly why it is worth being there.
The catch is the second calendar. If Hipcamp keeps its own availability and your diary keeps yours, the two only agree until the moment someone books. That is how a family arrives to find their pitch already taken.
The integration removes the second calendar. CampSuite™ sends your availability and rates out to Hipcamp, and Hipcamp bookings come back as real bookings in your booking diary. Take a booking over the phone and Hipcamp knows the pitch has gone. You manage the connection from the Channels screen, alongside Pitchup, Campsites.co.uk and Airbnb.
Hipcamp is a booking marketplace for campsites, glamping and off-grid stays, used by campers looking for somewhere new to stay outdoors. This page explains how it connects to CampSuite™. The Hipcamp listing, guest audience and commission are Hipcamp's own.
New guests, not just your regulars
Hipcamp guests are actively browsing for a place to camp. A synced listing means you can take that demand without adding a job to your morning.
One diary, no double bookings
A Hipcamp booking closes those dates everywhere else automatically, and a direct booking closes them on Hipcamp. Your diary stays the single source of truth.
Nothing to re-key
Bookings arrive with dates, pitch and guest details already filled in, so they flow into check-in, invoicing and your reports like any other booking.
How it works
List your site on Hipcamp
Set your site up as a Hipcamp host with your pitches, photos and rates, if you have not already.
Connect it in CampSuite
Open the Channels screen, add Hipcamp and authorise the connection. It takes a few minutes, once.
Map your pitches
Match your Hipcamp listings to the pitch types in CampSuite™ so availability lines up with what you actually sell.
Let it run
Availability and rates flow out, bookings flow in. Check the Channels screen if you ever want to see what is linked.
Information exchanged
Exactly what a channel exchanges depends on how your listing is set up. In broad terms, the Hipcamp connection covers:
| Availability, out to Hipcamp | When a pitch is booked, blocked or freed in CampSuite™, Hipcamp is updated so it stops offering dates you cannot honour. |
|---|---|
| Rates and pitch types, out | Your pitch types and prices are sent out, so what a Hipcamp guest sees matches what you charge. |
| Bookings, in to CampSuite | New Hipcamp bookings arrive in your diary with the dates, pitch and guest details attached. |
| Changes and cancellations, in | Amendments and cancellations made on Hipcamp come through too, so the dates go back on sale rather than sitting blocked. |
Is a Hipcamp listing worth it for your site?
Worth being straight about it: a channel booking costs you commission, a direct booking does not. So the honest answer is that Hipcamp earns its place when it brings you guests you would not otherwise have had.
In practice that tends to mean three things. It suits sites with something a bit different to sell, whether that is a wild-camping field, a few glamping pods or a farm paddock with a view, because that is what Hipcamp guests go looking for. It is useful for filling the gaps: midweek nights and shoulder-season weekends that your regulars never book. And it works best as a shop window rather than the whole shop, with your own online booking page taking the bookings you have earned yourself.
Used that way, a synced Hipcamp listing is close to free reach. The sync is what makes it sustainable: without it, every extra channel is another calendar to babysit and another chance to double-book. With it, adding a channel costs you nothing but the commission on the nights it actually fills.

Hipcamp integration FAQs
Does Hipcamp sync with CampSuite?
Yes. CampSuite™ connects to Hipcamp directly, both ways. Your availability and rates go out to Hipcamp, and Hipcamp bookings come back into your diary automatically. You set it up once on the Channels screen.
Will it stop me being double-booked between Hipcamp and my own site?
That is the main point of it. When a pitch is booked on Hipcamp, CampSuite™ marks it unavailable everywhere else, and when you take a direct or phone booking, Hipcamp is updated too.
Do Hipcamp bookings behave like normal bookings?
Yes. They land in your booking diary with the dates, pitch and guest details, and flow through check-in, invoicing and your reports like any other booking.
Does Hipcamp charge commission?
Hipcamp sets its own commission and guest fees, and they are between you and Hipcamp. CampSuite™ does not take any commission or booking fee on channel bookings, on any plan.
Can I use Hipcamp alongside Pitchup, Campsites.co.uk and Airbnb?
Yes, and most sites do. Every connected channel works from the same diary, so they all see the same availability. You can connect or disconnect any of them from the Channels screen.
Do I have to use channels at all?
No. Plenty of sites only take direct bookings through their own CampSuite™ booking page. Channels are there for when you want more reach.
