A free campsite booking system for Ireland, and a straight answer on the catch

CampSuite™ is free for up to 100 pitches, priced in euro, for campsites and caravan and camping parks from Donegal to Wexford. It is the full product, not a trial and not a limited version. Here is exactly how it pays for itself.

The CampSuite dashboard

Somebody is always paying. On the free plan it is the guest, once, when they book online.

€1.75 a booking. Flat. One night or fourteen, one pitch or three, two people or six. It sits on top of your pitch price, so it never touches your money. If you would rather your guests never saw a fee at all, you can cover it yourself instead. That is the whole business model, and there is nothing hiding behind it.

Read the small print

Three things the word free usually means

Free can mean a few different things in this trade. Worth knowing which one you are looking at before you put a whole season of bookings into it.

1

Free for thirty days

A trial with a countdown running on it. You spend an evening setting up pitches, rates and seasons, you get real guests into it, and then the bill lands in the middle of July when moving again is the last thing on earth you want to do. It was never free. It was deferred.

2

Free, with the useful half removed

The diary is free. Taking a card payment is not. Sending a confirmation email is not. The free tier is built to be just annoying enough that you upgrade, which is a strange thing to do to somebody who is still deciding whether they trust you.

3

Free, and we take a cut

No monthly fee, but a slice of every booking comes out of your pitch price. On a €35 pitch for four nights that is real money, on every booking, all season. The better your park does, the more it quietly costs you.

How this one works

Free up to 100 pitches, and free means free

There is no card to enter when you sign up. There is no countdown. There is no date in the calendar where the free plan turns into a paid one, and there is no bigger version of CampSuite that we are holding back from you. Under 100 pitches, you get the lot. Whether you are on the Wild Atlantic Way in Mayo or twenty minutes off the boat in Wicklow, it is the same plan and the same price.

The money comes from one place. A flat €1.75 that the guest pays when they book online, added on top of your pitch price. You set your rates in euro, the guest is charged in euro, and every cent of your rate is yours. Nothing is a percentage, so a heaving August costs you no more than a quiet week in the shoulder season, and a fortnight costs the same €1.75 as a single night. The full Irish price list has it all in one place.

Bookings you take yourself are never charged. Phone, email, walk-ins, the couple who roll off the Rosslare ferry and pull in at seven on a Friday evening, no fee, ever. If you never switch online bookings on, you never pay us anything and neither do your guests. You could run a whole season that way before you go any further, and that is a perfectly sensible way to start.

We would rather say all this on the way in than have you find it out in year two. A booking system you cannot leave is not a good business, and a park that feels stung does not recommend you to the park down the road. Have a look at what the software actually does and judge it on that.

The fee, in daylight

This is exactly what your guest sees

No asterisk, no line buried at the bottom of the confirmation. The fee appears as its own line at the moment of booking, described as what it is.

€1.75, and only on online bookings

The fee is ours, charged to the guest, and it never passes through your account or turns up in your takings. Your pitch price arrives whole. Your own VAT position on your pitch price is exactly what it was before you met us, and it stays yours to handle as you always have.

Guests are well used to this. A ferry crossing, a gig ticket, a flight, a small booking fee at the end is simply the shape of paying for things online now. Set against the cost of the stay, it is about the price of a coffee.

What you actually get for nothing

This is not a teaser list. It is the product.

Not obliged to go online

You can use it purely as a diary

If taking bookings online feels like a step too far this year, take them the way you always have and put them in here instead of the ledger. Pitches down the side, dates across the top. No fee is ever charged on a booking you typed in yourself, so a park running that way pays nothing at all and still gets rid of the paper. Switch online bookings on the day you fancy it, and off again if you change your mind.

The paid bits

When you would actually pay us

Three reasons, and you can see every one of them coming. All optional, and none of them needed to run a park well.

Put it on me, €2.75 a unit

You cover the booking fee so your guests never see one. Capped at €137.50 a month, which is 50 units, so a busier park knows the ceiling before it signs.

Add-ons, €12 and €6

Channel management for the listing sites at €12 a month. Your own custom domain at €6. Take neither, take one, take both.

Past 100 pitches

Over 100 pitches, or a few parks under one owner, and we work out a plan with you. Get in touch and we will talk real numbers, not a quote generator.

Money

Your rates are in euro and stay in euro

Nothing about your park is converted from sterling. You type €35 into the rate, the guest is charged €35, and Stripe pays out to your Irish IBAN by SEPA like any other Irish business. Card processing is Stripe's own rate, paid to Stripe, and we add nothing on top. On a free plan that matters more than anywhere else, because the number you see is the number that lands.

How getting paid works →

The questions people actually ask

Free for as long as you are under 100 pitches. There is no expiry on the plan and no point where it quietly becomes a paid one. If that ever changed we would tell you first, and you would still own every booking in there and be able to take them elsewhere.

No. You sign up, name your park, add your pitches and your rates, and you are taking bookings. The only card details anywhere near the system are the ones your guests use to pay you.

No. The free plan is the real thing. Website builder, site map designer, WordPress plugin, developer API, unlimited staff logins, reports, guest emails, the phone app, all of it. The paid plans do not unlock features. They change who pays the booking fee.

Most will not, because a separate booking fee is how nearly everything online is paid for now. If it does not sit right with you, Put it on me covers it at your end and no guest ever sees a fee. Or shave your pitch rate a little instead. It is your park and your call.

Never. The fee exists only on bookings a guest makes themselves through your online booking page. Anything you or your staff type in, walk-ins, phone calls, the regulars who ring every March for the same fortnight in August, costs nothing at all.

Nothing breaks and nothing switches itself off overnight. We agree a tailored plan with you, and your diary, your guests and your history stay exactly where they are. Ring +44 1228 581035, which dials fine from Ireland, or email hello@campsuite.net and we will sort it between us.

No. There is nothing to cancel on the free plan because there is nothing to pay. The paid extras run month to month and you can stop them whenever you like, without a phone call or a notice period.

Set it up this evening and see for yourself

Sign up, add your pitches and your rates in euro, and you can be taking bookings the same night. Free for up to 100 pitches, no card needed, and nothing to cancel if you decide it is not for you.
